The prompt
Make a 30 to 45 second vertical (1080x1920) ad for [BRAND], [ONE LINE: what it does], in HyperFrames. Reference style: an illustrated-character timeline video. Keep the core idea and pacing, make the visuals, script and structure original: - one recurring illustrated character with a signature look (big hair in a brand colour), from Open Peeps (CC0), rebuilt as layered SVG so the face can change expression through a take (squash, new face, settle) - a date stamp in the top right that ticks forward every scene - one giant condensed caps word per scene with an offset print shadow, entering a different way every scene - a small caption chip lower left with one underlined word - a risograph print look: paper ground, navy ink, one fluorescent accent, halftone dots instead of gradients, paper grain Story: one [CUSTOMER]'s week, Monday to Friday. The need on Monday, the old way failing, then [BRAND] appears, then 3 proof scenes using our REAL product screenshots (no invented UI), the payoff on Friday, the offer, and an end card with the logo and URL. Rules: 120 BPM, hard cuts on the bar, every scene a finished poster when paused, text at least 28 px, words inside the Instagram safe band (y 168 to 1330), real numbers only. Write SPEC.md and STORYBOARD.md first, build one scene per composition, then check, snapshot, review and render. Generate original music and sound effects in code. Brand: colours [HEX], fonts [FONTS], logo [FILE], product screenshots [FILES].
I made this ad for Podzay, the podcast guest matching product I'm building, without a camera or a video editor. Everything you see is code, and the prompt above is the one I started from. Copy it, swap in your brand, and run it in Claude Code with the HyperFrames skill installed (npx skills add heygen-com/hyperframes).
How it was built
- Picked a reference format and wrote down what to keep: the character, the date stamp, the big words, the caption chips and the print look.
- Rebuilt an Open Peeps character as layered SVGs in the brand colours, so the face can change expression.
- Wrote a spec where every adjective is a number, and a 10-scene storyboard.
- Built each scene as its own composition, sharing one small kit for the stamp, chip, word and character.
- Generated the music and every sound effect from code.
- Checked every scene as a still, fixed what looked wrong, and rendered on my own machine.
Credits
- Character art: Open Peeps by Pablo Stanley (CC0).
- Format inspired by "One prompt, twelve hours" by @donaldjewkes. The visuals, story and music are original.
